Hot Spud

Job Summary

Hot Spud is all about elevating the humble potato to new heights. For their new Westfield San Francisco location, the on-the-rise food court staple wanted to create a similarly elevated-but-hardworking space that would feel at home in this shopping hub...on a tight budget.

Description

In spite of various architectural challenges and technical requirements, Rylko’s team stayed cool when partnering with this hot potato. The general contractor displayed exceptional commitment to the success of the project at every stage, opting to self-perform work when unexpected situations arose to keep costs low. This dedication was instrumental in keeping the project on-budget (and on-schedule) at all times.

A commercial kitchen was constructed, complete with high-end finishes including stainless steel-wrapped wall panels, gas and grease ducts, and walk-in refrigeration. Top-of-the-line ANSUL system components were installed under the commercial hood to ensure safety and code compliance. The finishing touches included reclaimed wood finishes to bring a welcoming, homey look to the final space—the perfect updated-classic aesthetic for this well-loved comfort food.
